Sneaking a flask into a sports event might be a time-honored tradition, but doing it in school isn't such a hot idea, as students in Terrell found out. Herman Furlough Jr. Middle School is banning the use of open containers after students were caught trying to sneak alcohol in through water bottles, KXAS-TV reported.

Students at a Kaufman County middle school won't be allowed to bring open drinks to classrooms after some students were caught bringing alcohol to class, authorities say. There have been "several" recent incidents at Furlough Jr. Middle School in Terrell with students bringing alcohol on campus in open containers, principal Jay Thompson said in a letter to parents.

An Oklahoma man who pleaded guilty to brutally raping a 13-year-old girl at a church camp was sentenced to 15 years probation. In the summer of 2016, a 13-year-old girl said she was raped by 36-year-old Benjamin Lawrence Petty while she was at the camp, according to KFOR .
